Mission

To instill and encourage joy in making music using good practice habits and life skills of discipline, problem-solving, long-term focus, self-evaluation, teamwork, and patience. I hope to inspire confidence and creativity in students as they explore the freedom of expressing themselves at the piano.

Biography

Claudia Libero began piano lessons as a child and learned to appreciate the joy of making music with others as an accompanist for her high school chorus. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance and Education from Ithaca College, which gave her the opportunity to study both piano and harpsichord at the Royal College of Music in London, England, as part of Ithaca College's Study Abroad program. During the past 20 years, her continuing education has included:

  • Piano lessons with master teachers Anthony Chanaka and Nancy Breth in the D.C. Metropolitan area
  • Pedagogy instruction from Levine School of Music, Washington D.C., and George Mason University, Fairfax, VA
  • Pedagogy workshops at annual Music Teachers' National Conventions, as well as the National Conference for Keyboard Pedagogy

Active memberships include:

  • Northern Virginia Music Teacher's Association (NVMTA) 
  • Virginia Music Teacher's Association (VMTA)
  • Music Teacher's National Association (MTNA) 
  • Fairfax Loudoun Music Fellowship (FLMF) 

Positions held in her local area include:

  • Current Parliamentarian for NVMTA
  • Past President and Treasurer of FLMF
  • Past Co-chair for NVMTA's Fall Festival and Bach Baroque Festivals

Location and Parking

The studio is located at 2502 Fauquier Dr., Reston, VA 20191. Please park in the cul de sac, not in the driveway. Parents must accompany children under 10 to and from the studio door if lesson times begin or end at night.
